Comprehensive Pet Care for Hospice Patients
Keep Your Beloved Pet by Your Side With Quality Care
Mountain Hospice offers the Pet Peace of Mind Program to enable those with terminal illnesses to continue enjoying the unconditional love, acceptance, comfort, and companionship of their beloved pets at the time when it is most needed. One of the first questions that we are asked by our hospice patients is, “What will happen to my pet?” We are pleased to let our patients know that their pet can remain right at home with them. We extend comfort and compassion to the pet family members of our hospice patients. There are no costs for Mountain Hospice patients who participate in this program. We firmly believe that no one should ever have to give up a pet because they are terminally ill. High-quality comprehensive care is provided, including:
- Pet Food
- Cat Litter
- Routine Veterinary Care
- Spaying/Neutering
- Heartworm Preventative
- Pet Medications & Supplies
- Flea & Tick Treatments
- Pet Boarding During Patient Hospitalization (When Applicable)
- Pet Exercising/Walking
- Pet Grooming
- Pet Transportation
- Pain & Comfort Care for Elderly Pets (Case-by-Case)
Pet Peace of Mind: Ensuring Companionship Through the End of Life Journey
Pet Peace of Mind is a national non-profit organization that was founded in 2015 with the mission to enrich the lives of hospice patients by providing a support network to help care for the pets they love. The Pet Peace of Mind program’s mission is to keep pets and people together throughout the end-of-life journey. We are pleased to inform our patients that requiring hospice services does not mean that a beloved pet must be abandoned. The program is administered locally through Mountain Hospice. Specially trained volunteers provide complete in-home care for the pets of our patients. If the need arises, our volunteers are dedicated to re-homing pets in loving homes. Your pet’s needs are assured now and into the future.
